Military Service: All two years of the required active duty after OCS was
at Illesheim, Germany, Storck Barracks. Served almost
the first full year as the Company Commander of the
Iron Horsemen of Company B, 4th BN, 35th Armor, 4th Armor
Division, and the second year as the Battalion S-3.
Civilian employment: About 8 years as a mortgage consultant with Metropolitan
Life Insurance Company then with various banks as a senior
lending and/or administrative officer in Illinois until
retirement in January 2010.
Wife: Verna C. Bett - retired from the US Department of Veterans Affairs.
Children: Christine, a Family Practice Physician and Jennifer, a
Chiropractor. All of us live in the same sub-division in
Brentwood, TN.
Grandchildren: Four girls. Madeline 10, Emmaline 7, Ava 7, and Charlotte 4.
Hobbies: Golf
